Fall is here!

Fall is finally here and almost gone. I cannot believe it. Soccer is over, the boys loved it and did great. Our team was awesome and everyone on the team had a great team! With the changing leaves come busy nights for Chris, his basketball season is in full swing. His team has only lost one game and is gearing up for the Regional and State Tournaments. Last year, this team won state, so this year hopefully will be no different. The boys love to go watch the girls play and they love acting like they are basketball girls while they are at home. They always have a basketball or football jersey on. The boys are loving school, they are learning so much and really love to go to school everyday. We have also signed the boys up for Tumbling in Hillsboro. They really love tumbling and are pretty good. They have only had 3 lessons and Owen is already doing a pretty good cartwheel!

I did spend some time in the hospital this fall already, just 3 days and I was on IV antibiotics for 3 weeks to get rid of the infection that I had. I am better, not great, but feeling better than I did. Lets hope that that is my only hospital stay this fall!

I have been subbing at the schools a little bit these past 2 months and its so much fun! I love interacting with the kids and Chris especially loves having me in the middle school! Just ask him!
So that about sums up our last few months. Time really gets away from me, even though I am not working and am less busy than I used to be.

Update Finally!

So I have not updated this blog in a long time. Since I have posted, so many things have gone on. I have quit working as of May 31. It was bittersweet, but I am glad I chose to stay home with the boys. They have started kindergarten and love it. They are getting used to getting up early and getting out the door by 8 am. They love their teacher, Mrs. Niemann, she is wonderful! Owen was leader yesterday and Peyton is leader today. They love to help in the classroom and at home so that is right up their alley. We had a great summer. We really did not go anywhere exciting or do anything exciting..the boys swam almost everyday, we have been taking care of our Golden doodle puppy, Winnie. She is a handful, but loving. She is still a puppy, but is very fun! The boys love taking care of her and being in charge of her! We went to Six Flags and the boys loved it! They rode rides, loved the water rides the best! We also visited Chicago at the end of summer, we visited Navy Pier, Sears Tower, Shedd Aquarium, The Museum of Science and Industry. The boys loved the museums. Navy Pier was packed, but the boys loved Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. We took the Amtrak up there from Springfield. It was awesome! The train was so much fun and the boys loved it! We took cabs all over the city and the boys thought that was very cool.

School is back in full force. Chris starts basketball next week, so the nights will get crazy around here! I have loved being home and doing things around the house. Now that everyone is at school, its much easier to get things done here. I am looking forward to fall and football season! The boys are pumped to go to the football games! That's about it from here, talk to everyone when the leaves turn red and orange!

Mothers Day

Mothers Day is right around the corner. I am posting this picture to show one of my most proud moments in the early days of my boys' lives. The was one of the first times I was able to hold them in the hospital. I cannot explain the joy I felt being able to hold them and not have all the wires attached.

Hope you all enjoy this picture as much as I do

Where has the time gone?

As I sit here at work, I am thinking that in about 6 weeks I will be done working.. I only have about 6 weeks left of work. The thought is exciting and scary at the same time. I am so happy to be home with the boys all summer and to spend the time at home doing things that I have neglected. Working full time, or more than full time at my job and then coming home to fix dinner, give baths and do bedtime stuff, leaves little or no time for extra things. Weekends are spent mowing the yard, laundry, cleaning the house deeper than I do throughout the week, cleaning rooms, stripping beds and playing outside in the nice weather. With Chris and I both working, there is not much time for starting a house project or organizing the kitchen or bathroom cabinets. I cannot wait for the time when I don't have to finish things before the weekend is over and the I cannot wait for the time when we are not rushing around the house at 6:30 am trying to get out before 7. I cannot wait for the days when the boys can sleep in until 7 and we don't have to rush all over. I cannot wait until the day when I can take them to school and pick them up. The boys and I are so excited. Of course, I do plan to sub if I am asked and feeling good and my mom and I are doing great on our Etsy Account...
Check it out if you like antiques or cool stuff for the house.

So, the countdown in our house has begun...we have really no summer plans, except to use our Knights Action Park season passes that we got this year. I want to paint my bathroom and the furniture in it and Chris wants to put in new basement windows. We worked over the weekend on getting our new basketball system installed, we have the concrete poured and will try to get the rest up this weekend..
So, I have updated my blog finally... I will see you all again in the summer!
Have a wonderful Spring!

Holidays and SPORTS

We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed the time spent with family. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful family to share the holidays with. Our entire family so blessed. The boys had an amazing Christmas, thanks to all of our families. They received tractors, planters, a combine, a Nintendo DS, tumbling mat, football uniforms and many other great presents. In addition to all the Christmas excitement, the boys have begun to become VERY intersted in sports. This is not due to any encouragement on Chris's part (he wanted me to add that in there). The boys have become obsessed with basketball and football. On any given night, the boys attire goes from a basketball practice jersey and Chris's basketball shoes to a football uniform and helmet. They usually change 3 or 4 times throughout the evening. Owen loves to dribble the basketball and then change into his football uniform and play football. Peyton does as well, but he is not quite as serious as Owen. I will be posting pictures of this soon. It is really entertaining for Chris and I to watch. This is going to be a short blog this week...I will post pictures tomorrow I hope. We hope that everyone had a wondeful Christmas season with their families and again..we are so very blessed!
